SPECIAL TOPICS FOR TEACHERS Schedule

Over the next four months, NOCTI is hosting a series of web seminars for teachers.  The sessions will be held on the third Wednesday of the month, and will start at 4:00pm eastern standard time.  You may attend as many as you want.

We hope you will join us for this excellent professional development opportunity.

Mar 17:          The Curriculum Evolution…
How Can I Adjust My Planning to Improve Student Learning?

Apr 21:           Meeting and Exceeding State Standards

May 19:          How Can Data Improve My Students’ Performance?

The sessions last 30-40 minutes. There is no cost to participate, but you must pre-register.

How To Register

Send an email with your choice of session(s), your name, your email address, school name and your phone number to:   laura.leach@nocti.org

We will email the connection instructions to you a day or two before the web seminar.

How Does a Web Seminar Work?

You will need Internet access and a separate phone line to participate.  We will send you a link, which connects you to the presentation via the Internet.  You will then call a toll-free number to access the audio portion of the program. (Please note:  the sound does not go through your computer speakers.)

Groups are welcome to participate and will want to arrange for projection of the computer images and a phone with adequate volume capacity for the room size.

Spring Testing Reminders

Spring Testing Season Reminders
The spring testing season is here!  Below are some reminders to help ensure a successful testing season.

Testing reminders:

  • Check your order as soon as it is received to verify the number of user codes, test booklets, or study guides and the test titles match your order.  Contact NOCTI immediately if there are discrepancies.
  • Ensure participant IDs are unique for each test taker; do not re-use participant IDs from previous years.
  • The same participant ID must be used for a participant on both the pre- and post-test administrations, if appropriate, to ensure pre/post comparative reporting.
  • Allow your test proctors adequate time to review the proctor guide prior to test administration.
  • Verify all performance ratings (if appropriate) have been entered into the online system or recorded in the correct section of the answer sheet.
  • Verify ALL online tests have been “released” for scoring from the Client Services Center after administration.

Study Guide orders:

  • Check your order as soon as it is received to verify the contents match your order (i.e., confirm you have the correct study guide titles and count your materials).  Contact NOCTI immediately if there are discrepancies.
  • Additional study guide sets must be ordered in conjunction with a study guide package.  The Teacher’s Companion Guide is only included with study guide packages.
  • No returns, refunds, or exchanges are allowed for study guide purchases.

Returns:

  • A completed Request for Return for Credit form (available on the Client Services Center) must accompany all assessment returns.
  • No returns, refunds, or exchanges are allowed for study guide purchases.
  • Do not include answer sheets to be scored with return packages.
  • The Return Policy for Assessments is available on the Client Services Center.

Enhancements to the Client Services Center

Enhancements to the Client Services Center
Please note the most recent enhancements to NOCTI’s Client Services Center.

NEW GROUPING TOOL
The Grouping tool provides the ability for Site Coordinators to create defined groups and designate which participants are to be reported in the defined groups. Instructions for using the Grouping tool can be downloaded from the Client Services Center in the Manage User Codes section.

REDESIGNED STANDARD SCORE REPORT
The new format displays scoring data in a more attractive and easy-to-follow format while continuing to provide the valuable data our customers are accustomed to receiving.

IMPROVED EXCEL EXPORT OPTION
The Excel export now provides separate worksheets for written and performance data, a worksheet for normative data (post-tests only), and displays pre-test data in the post-test worksheet when appropriate.

NEW STUDENT CERTIFICATE EXPORT OPTION
The new certificate export option provides a PDF file with pre-populated student certificates for each participant in the testing group which can be printed at the local site.  The student certificate export option is only available for student post-tests.
