NOCTI was originally established to offer individuals from
business and industry the opportunity to be granted post secondary credit
toward an education degree. Experienced Worker Assessments were developed
by NOCTI as a means to assess and validate an individual’s specific
competency level within a field of work. Upon successful completion of your
state’s assessment requirements, post secondary institutions may grant
a specified number of credits within the core area of expertise. Over thirty
states offer some form of this educational opportunity for individuals wanting
to obtain a degree in Career and Technical Education.
Each state has specific requirements that the teacher candidate must fulfill.
Area Test Centers (ATC) have been established within various states to facilitate
the assessment of teacher candidates. To learn more about how NOCTI is used
in your state, you must contact the designated Area Test Center.
