SkillsUSA, the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education and NOCTI have partnered to offer the SkillsUSA Workplace Readiness Certificate Program.
Are your students prepared to capture high-skill, high-wage jobs? Or take on higher education opportunities? There is a common set of workplace readiness skills that can help them achieve these goals. These skills include foundation abilities and personal qualities in eight specific areas:
- Communications
- Problem Solving and Critical Thinking
- Information Technology Applications
- Business and Organization Systems
- Leadership, Management and Teamwork
- Ethics and/or Legal Responsibilities
- Safety, Health and Environment
- Employability and/or Career Development
The SkillsUSA Workplace Readiness Certificate Program includes two components for student success.
Getting Prepared…
SkillsUSA offers a preparation package allowing students to prepare for the Workplace Readiness Assessment. By enrolling in this package, your students will have access to:
- Two 50-question online Practice Tests, automatically graded
- A downloadable 43-page Skills Assessment Study Guide to help them prepare for the Workplace Readiness Assessment
- Links to valuable support web sites for each skill area and for test-taking and study skills

Assessing Knowledge…
The NOCTI Workplace Readiness Assessment evaluates a student’s knowledge of the key skills in these target areas. Students meeting the established minimum standard qualify for the SkillsUSA Workplace Readiness Certificate/Wallet Card enabling them to:
- Earn recognition and certification by achieving measurable, established standards
- Provide potential employers with a credential that documents skills and knowledge
Two order options are available to meet the needs of your school.
Option 1
The Workplace Readiness Certificate Program Assessment package (Test Code:
3931) is the most convenient and economical option. For pricing and order

Option 2
NOCTI’s Workplace Readiness assessment can be ordered without the certification
option. If this option is selected, students may apply for certification once
the assessment is complete and score reports have been received. In order
to be eligible for the certificate/wallet card, the following conditions must
be met:
- Student must have completed the NOCTI Workplace Readiness Assessment (Test Code: 3031)
- Student must meet the minimum standard established of 77.8 as their total test score
